Our Homage to the
150th Anniversary of the Unity of Italy
This s our prestigious homage to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy: a special, limited-edition wooden case with twelve bottles of the 2007 Barolo Monfalletto. A fantastic vintage in terms of quality, expressiveness, and sheer drinking pleasure.
It is a precious product,
of rich and rare significance:
- The labels are the historic ones of the house, each different from the others and each meticulously reproduced in the identical style of the originals in order to offer and highlight the graphic transformation of the Monfalletto labels from the mid-19th century to the current epoch.
- The wooden case itself, made from French oak supplied directly to us by one of our French coopers, was designed to present all of the twelve bottles it contains and makes a clear and linear statement of the graphic evolution of our Monfalletto Barolo over the decades.
- The cases are numbered, one for each year which has passed since the unification of Italy in 1861. They are numbered from 1 to 150 and, at the same time, from 1861 to 2011 as a homage both to the years which have passed and to the months of the year (twelve bottles per case, just as there are twelve months in a year).
- The “tall Burgundy” bottle recalls the older bottles which preceded, by many decades, the “Alba” (Albeisa) bottle which the house currently uses.
